Details

Deep plum crackle glaze and a contrasting cream rim define this vintage round Marufuji bonsai pot. Its shallow profile makes a delicate frame for a refined small bonsai, with the glaze offering a rich backdrop to fine branching or seasonal color.

Clay & Craftsmanship

The crackle glaze adds a fine network of lines to the deep plum surface, with the cream rim defining the planting area. This vintage Japanese ceramic pot carries a Marufuji chop mark on the underside. Its shallow proportions suit a refined display with an already developed root pad.

Maker: Marufuji; chop mark on the underside. Origin: Japan.

Recommended Trees & Bonsai Styles

Consider a refined shohin Japanese maple, Chinese elm or miniature flowering tree with an established shallow root pad. The circular outline suits gentle informal upright movement, while plum glaze can echo autumn foliage or contrast with green leaves.

Tree Size & Root Fit

Use the measurements above to check the healthy root ball against the usable inside opening and planting depth. Overall dimensions include the container body and do not establish planting capacity. Confirm any missing interior measurements before ordering; do not choose a tree or reduce its roots to meet a display proportion.
